Kabir Sondhi acted for the Serious Fraud Office (led by Sasha Wass QC and Cameron Brown QC) in the recently approved Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) between the SFO and Amec Foster Wheeler Energy Limited (AFWEL), relating to historic offences of corruption in the oil and gas sector across multiple jurisdictions. The terms of the DPA included financial penalties and costs amounting to £103m in the UK, which formed part of a US$177m global settlement with the UK, US and Brazilian authorities.
