Chambers

The history of Nine Bedford Row goes back over half a century. Chambers was established at 4 Brick Court in the Temple, in rooms formerly occupied by the great Lord Denning and moved into their elegant Georgian premises in Bedford Row in 2000, where they have steadily expanded into one of London's largest and most powerful sets. Within this impressive building, they provide modern facilities, including designated consultation rooms and the supporting services of an experienced, friendly and helpful clerks' room headed by Michael Eves, doyen of barristers' clerks.

Members and former Members have served not only their clients but also their profession with distinction. Chambers has provided leadership within the Criminal Bar Association, including the first female Chair of that organization and no fewer than four of the association's past Secretaries. The present Head of Chambers, Anthony Berry QC, is the Chair of the influential Heads of Chambers committee. Former members of chambers have accepted judicial appointments to the High Court, Central Criminal Court and Crown Court benches.

Chambers is justifiably proud of its long record of implementing an equal opportunity policy, which has resulted in a diverse and committed team of highly professional men and women.
